Albus Agate creates handmade lapidary-driven jewelry using ethically sourced material. Every stone has a story, and every piece is imbued with the passion and dedication of two people who wake up every morning, and go to sleep every night, with the next rock on their minds.
Challenges
Brand Identity: Designing a visually appealing logo mark with a color scheme that will lend itself well to the client's business plans. The branding package was smaller so it was important to give the client the tools for success as they continued to build their brand.
Albus Element: Implementing the majestic dog Albus into the branding was a request (one I was happy to oblige by)
My Approach
Discovery Phase
Client Consultation: Conducted extensive discussions with Albus Agate to understand their jewelry direction, target audience, and specific requirements.
Mood Boards: Studied competitor handmade jewelry brands for best practices to identify key features and design elements that aligned with the client's goals.
Design and Implementation
Sketches and Roughs: Designed various layouts, Albus illustrations, and examples of how all the designs can be used in marketing material (business cards, order cards, thank you's, ring boxes, etc).
Finalization: Once final directions were chosen, the logo design was cleaned up and prepared for client handoff
Brand Guidelines: Developed a guide that could be easily referenced by the client to be used in any marketing material they needed.
Results
Albus Agate has accumulated a strong market following since their new logo and branding went live in spring 2021. Using these guidelines, they've been able to market themselves successfully via their website and Instagram. Their branding has evolved with them and their loyal clientele has praised the logos we created together in 2021. I've even seen a story reshare of someone loving the Albus mark enough to make a print for the Albus Agate team!
