Photographic Work

These days I've been shooting fairly regularly with a Minolta SRT-101 and a Ricoh Caddy that my aunt gave me. I stow my Ricoh with me in whatever purse I happen to be using that day, hoping to capture a lil memory of my day that resonates with me.

Photography is a medium I've always loved. I don't know exactly how to describe why I love it other than it helps me feel connected to others and myself. It's fun how strangers will stop me to ask about my camera and we can chat about our own experiences with film. Every time I go home, I dig through the boxes of archived film my parents shot from the '60s to the '90s. The second I get my film back, I send my favorites to my friends so we can share in the moment of finding those really great pics. Film is my form of artistic expression, but also a great way I've been able to build community in every new city I move to.
